One consequence of bonus arithmetic rarely gets said out loud: a turnover requirement imposes a schedule. Why the limit belongs before the bonus, not after

A limit works when it is not set in the aftermath of a loss. Deposit size determines bonus size, bonus size determines the turnover requirement, and the requirement determines the daily pace. With a deposit limit already in place at the cashier, the bonus automatically stays inside a range that can actually be cleared. It is the same formula used backwards: divide the stake volume you can realistically produce by 40, and that is the bonus worth accepting.

The Hungarian framework

Alongside operator-side tools, Hungary's SZTFH maintains a self-restriction register that reaches further than an exclusion requested at one site. The same authority publishes the register of licensed organisers and the list of sites ordered to be blocked. Questions about limits

Cooling-off or self-exclusion?
A cooling-off period is short, measured in days or weeks, and the account reopens automatically afterwards. Self-exclusion runs for months or years and cannot be lifted before it expires. Choosing between them is a question of whether the problem was a one-off or a pattern.
Does a deposit limit kill an active bonus?
Not directly, but it can end one indirectly. A lower limit means fewer stakes, and fewer stakes mean the turnover requirement may not be met inside the 21-day window, at which point the bonus expires. The player's own balance is unaffected.
Is there a central exclusion scheme in Hungary?
Yes. The SZTFH, the Supervisory Authority for Regulated Activities, maintains a self-restriction register that is broader in scope than an exclusion requested at a single operator. It is the right next step when the issue is not tied to one site.
When do limit changes take effect?
Tightening — a lower limit, a longer break — is normally immediate. Loosening is deliberately delayed so that a momentary decision cannot overturn a considered one. The delay is the feature, not a flaw.
